May 27, 2011

Matthew’s description of tonight’s Space Capsule …

“A bit of a palate cleanser show I guess you could say.   Gets the capsule back to its control center”

And indeed the Space Capsule is in standard orbit, with some classic space music from Jean Michel Jarre, Mountains, Bill Laswell, Michael Stearns

and a coda from Bjork to lull you to bedtime…

Tune into the Space Capsule tonight at 11pm CT on 91.3 KVLU in Beaumont or catch the online stream at

Cinemaphonic Space Capsule

May 19, 2011

This Friday’s Space Capsule will be cinematic in scope!

The soundtrack to a 1960s-1970s French New Wave-Italian-German-crime- thriller-horror- sexy spy film!

There are many cool compilations that were released at the early part of this century, that feature music from these European films from the 60s and 70s that feature some fantastically grooving and well-arranged compositions that deserve attention, even though the films associated with them are obscure or unfamiliar to American audiences. Therefore, the Space Capsule this week will feature selections from some of these compilation such as …

Shake Sauvage: French Soundtracks 1968-1973

Crime And Dissonance (music by Ennio Morricone)

Cinemaphonic: Electro Soul

Stroboscopica (series)

Show time is 11pm CT at your local theater of the mind, 91.3 KVLU or online streaming is available at

Land Capsule

May 5, 2011

This Friday on the Space Capsule, Matt and I keep things “grounded”.  After returning from the cosmos last week to bring the rain, we decided to stay on terra firma and mix a set appropriate for traveling on land.

Brian Eno (from his 4th ambient album titled “On Land”) moves into British DJ duo “Sounds From The Gound” and continues traversing the musical landscape with a set by Matt of all new releases, including Amon Tobin and Melodium.

Join us on this week’s show… Friday night beginning at 11pm on 91.3 KVLU or streaming online at
